During the meeting, the council approved a bill to investigate the Big Apple's role in slavery as a way to consider reparations for descendants of enslaved people, Fox 5 reported. Reported on friday.
“If enacted, this bill would make the city one of the few cities actively committed to reparations,” the report said, adding, “It is in line with the Racial Justice Commission's (RJC) 'Roadmap to Justice,' a set of measures addressing racial justice and reconciliation.”

Meanwhile, the radical left is pressuring Vice President Kamala Harris (Democrat), an ally in challenging former President Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential election, to continue supporting the idea of reparations, Breitbart News reported on September 4.
“Harris has repeatedly promised to get taxpayers to pay reparations to the descendants of enslaved Africans, even though 68% of Americans oppose reparations, according to a 2022 Pew Research Center poll,” the article states. “During her 2020 presidential run, Harris told MNSBC host and activist Rev.
