Democrat Eric Swalwell Says Trump Is 'America's Hitler'

Swalwell Calls Trump “American Hitler” at Protest

During a protest outside Union Station in Washington, D.C., Rep. Erik Swalwell (D-CA) referred to President Donald Trump as “the Hitler of America.” This statement was captured in a video shared on social media.

While addressing the crowd at the “No Kings Protest,” Swalwell emphasized the need for a more independent journalist, suggesting that they shouldn’t simply yield to Trump. He mentioned how he participates in town halls, aiming to engage constituents directly.

Swalwell declared, “Today, we have 2,000 meetings to assert that in America, there are no kings.” He remained optimistic about upcoming electoral victories, anticipating wins in the governor’s races in New Jersey and Virginia, and success in the midterms.

Furthermore, Swalwell expressed concerns about the potential for many individuals to be “erroneously imprisoned or arrested,” criticizing Trump for undermining people’s freedoms.

He remarked, “What Donald Trump doesn’t understand is that while he may hold the power to infringe on personal freedom, he won’t succeed in silencing all of us.”

Swalwell’s comments followed the tragic shooting of Minnesota Sen. Melissa Hortman and her husband. Reports indicate they were attacked at their home by someone posing as a police officer.

In light of this incident, officials, including those from Governor Tim Waltz’s office, urged people to avoid the protest, leading to several organizers deciding to cancel the event.
