Representative Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) says the idea of men participating in women's sports was a distraction and an election issue that “allowed” Americans to “split.”
Speaking to Eliaan Haynes, the editor of the outlet on the 19th, Crockett spoke about “going back to basics,” focusing on his influence on the public while ignoring distractions.
The first issue Crockett raised was why he focused so much on trans athletes during the 2024 election cycle. “What are we doing?!” Crockett asked.
“In this election, we allowed ourselves to split ourselves. We allowed them to deflect us and let them talk about Transfolk,” Democrat said. It's begun. “They say trans kids, they want to play sports. That's the biggest problem we've had. Since when?! Find the little trans kids who are ruining your life. I mean, what are we doing?
Interestingly, the interview with Crockett was recorded a few days before some international stories about transgender athletes broke, but in addition to that, many stories that continued into election season.
The former NCAA hurdler recently spoke about the championship chosen by male athletes and asked her to overturn the outcome of her race against men. A few days later, a high school man won two gold medals in women's track and field in Portland, Oregon for the second year in a row. This prompted a federal investigation by the Department of Education's Civil Rights Office.
At the same time, World Athletics announced that it will launch mandatory gender tests for female athletes to protect the integrity of women's sports.
Crockett and the Democrats as a whole, appearing to ignore this big wedge issue has benefited Republicans a lot. Polls show that it is growing across political boundaries in favour of protecting women's spaces.
a New York Times/Ipsos Survey Of the 2,128 people, 79% of respondents indicated that they believe that men identified as women should not be allowed to participate in female sports. This included more than 1,000 Democrats who agreed to a 67% rate.
a National exit survey Women for women who are concerned found that 70% of moderate voters consider this issue important to them as well.
“The truth matters. Men are not women,” Jennifer Sey, CEO of XX-XY Athletics, told Blaze News. “This is greater than the identified men playing women's sports. We are defending the truth about fairness and privacy and women's rights.”
“Undocumented people are contributing billions…”
Crockett's Diatrib was continued by underestimating the issue of illegal immigrants lowering wages and not paying taxes.
Lawmakers justified illegal labor by asking the audience “How many children do they raise and work on farms?”
She then asked, “How many people would like to send their children to hospitality after this university education so that they can make beds in hotels?”
Crockett later argued that illegal immigrants donated “billions” to tax revenues, but were in net profit for the country as they did not receive social security benefits.
“They're not talking about the fact that undocumented people donate billions. I think the tax revenue we got was $10 billion.”
