Democrat Marianne Williamson called on President Joe Biden to “step back” from the presidential race and give the Democratic Party enough time to “recalibrate.”

“The Democratic Party needs to recalibrate,” Williamson continued, adding, “I hope this weekend will be a weekend of people coming together to urge the Biden family and the president to drop out of the race.”
“He should resign immediately. I say that with all my respect and sympathy,” Williamson added. “He should go. We need to have a mini-primary.”

In a series of posts about X, Williamson wrote: I have written “Anyone who needs to speak to the president or his family needs to do so now.”

Biden’s performance in last Thursday’s presidential debate left many Democrats, donors, voters and members of the media panicked and questioning whether he could serve a second term as president.
Several donors and House Democrats, including Reps. Raul Grijalva (D-Ariz.), Lloyd Doggett (D-Texas) and Angie Craig (D-Minn.), have called on Biden to “stand down” and withdraw from the presidential race, but Biden and his campaign insist he is not dropping out and will remain in the race.
Sen. Mark Warner (D-Va.) has also reportedly begun forming a Senate Democratic caucus to urge Biden to withdraw from the presidential race.
