A Democrat candidate for Congress has garnered significant media attention due to the revelation of past modeling photos showcasing his involvement in leather and bondage attire. As reported by the New York Post, these images of Chris Gallant, a 37-year-old seeking to represent Long Island in Congress, surfaced after it was disclosed that he had modeled for a fetish company, Mr. S Leather, located in San Francisco.

The article from the Post stated that Gallant posed in various items, including collars and leather straps, while working with the company. Although the photos were removed from the Mr. S Leather website, they had been available online from 2011 to 2020, and archives still contain them.

Gallant’s attorney, Sara Azari, affirmed the legitimacy of the images, explaining that they were captured during a private session with Gallant’s then-partner, with whom he shared a four-year relationship. Azari also noted that Gallant requested the photographs be taken down as he began to contemplate a career in public service, a request that Mr. S honored.

Some of these images allegedly included Gallant in explicit poses and even made appearances on adult websites, according to the Post.

Azari emphasized that Gallant had never intended for the photographs to be published without restrictions by third parties. With a two-decade career in the Army National Guard, his campaign website indicates that these photographs were taken during this period.

The LGBTQ+ publication Pink News has responded positively to these revelations about Gallant’s past, stating, “Congressional candidate modeled BDSM gear before turning to politics — and honestly, good for him.”

Gallant faces a challenging campaign against incumbent Republican Rep. Nick LaLota in New York’s 1st Congressional District, a seat LaLota has held since 2022. Reports suggest that the district is considered strong for Republicans.

As of now, neither Gallant’s nor LaLota’s campaigns have provided comments regarding the situation.
