Rep. Seth Moulton (D-Mass.) said Democrats believe they “do not come into contact” with what the majority of Americans from the party want.
Moulton competed in Fox News on Wednesday, where Democrat strategist James Kerrville emphasized the idea that Democrats should sit down and “punch out themselves” and “crash” President Trump.
“We just don't agree that we should just take a step back. I think we have to show leadership. We show Americans that we are actually changing,” Moulton argued. “We lost the election all along, so by definition we no longer come into contact with the majority of Americans.”
Moulton reiterated his argument that Democrats need to prove to the American people that they are willing to change the Trump administration and change ahead of the medium-term elections.
“We need to show that we are willing to change and listen, and we are going to make a positive difference in your life,” he said.
Moulton's comments differ from veteran strategist Kerrville.
Kerrville believes Democrats don't need to be offensive to fight Trump. This is because he predicts that the government's “collapse” is “already ongoing” after his polls fell a month after he took office.
Moulton has become openly about fighting the Trump administration. Earlier this week, he said he believes Trump is “selling out Ukraine to Russia.”
He expressed shock that Trump was intimate with Russian President Vladimir Putin, and no one ever imagined the US would betray Ukraine for Russia. “But that's happening today.”
