Democrat Party Has ‘Work to Do’ After Biden Debate Performance

Democratic strategist Donna Brazile acknowledged Democrats have “work to do” following President Joe Biden’s performance in the presidential debates, but said he will likely be the party’s presidential nominee.

Brazil post CNN political commentator Bakari Sellers said on X that Biden is “not going anywhere” and that anyone reacting negatively to his performance in the debate needs to “let go” of their pearly bling.

“Biden isn’t going anywhere,” Sellers wrote. “It’s June. Hand over your pearls and dry your bed. He lost the debate. Too bad. But it’s June. You’re not replacing him. So leave the random pairings in the chat.”

Sellers went on to say that someone like Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer (D) or California Governor Gavin Newsom (D) would not be chosen as the nominee over Vice President Kamala Harris.

“Don’t do it. Organize. Vote,” Sellers continued. “We’re winning the Senate race and the gubernatorial race (in North Carolina) in every battleground state. Rest assured, the choice is Trump, Biden or Couch. I choose Joe.”

In contrast, Brazil I have written“Say it: We have a job to do. Biden is going to be our nominee.”

Biden’s performance at Thursday’s presidential debate with former President Donald Trump was heavily criticized by many who say Biden needs to be replaced and a “new candidate” is needed.

Someone like Edward Luce Financial Times, Said“Democrats need a new candidate,” said others, like Biden’s former communications director, Kate Bedingfield, who called Biden’s debate performance “disappointing.”

Former Democratic presidential candidate Andrew Yang also wrote that Biden needs to be replaced, noting that he is a “different person” from when they debated in 2020.

Biden appeared to freeze up after a few minutes during the debate and his voice became hoarse and he spoke in a mumbling voice.

Biden couldn’t get through his closing statement without making a mistake.

An NBC News poll from February found that 89 percent of Americans are concerned Biden is not mentally or physically fit to serve a second term as US president.

62% of registered voters say they have “great concerns” about Biden’s mental and physical health as he serves another term in office, 14% have “moderate” concerns and 13% of registered voters have “small concerns.”
