Democrat Rep. Ansari Calls on More Lawmakers to Travel to El Salvador

Rep. Yassamin Ansari (D-AZ), currently one of El Salvador’s four left-wing House members, has called on other lawmakers to travel to the Latin American country, defending immigrants “illegally imprisoned” and claiming one of the teenagers, in order to promote the return of suspects of MS-13 gang member Kilmer Abrego Garcia.

Senator Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) set the tone last week when his constituents chose him to fly to El Salvador in Congress when he took time out of work meet Abrego Garcia. Representatives Ansari, Maxwell Frost (D-FL), Robert Garcia (D-CA), and Maxine Dexter (D-OR) currently have Followed by the suit.

The representative on Monday “promotes the return of Kilmer Abrego Garcia to pressure the Trump administration to follow the orders of the Supreme Court.” press release announcement.

In a video posted on social media on Tuesday, Ansari called America the country of Abrego Garcia, despite having no citizenship, and demanded that she receive “proof of life.”

“We had a very long and productive day here in El Salvador. I’m here with three colleagues who are insisting on the release of Kilmer Abrego Garcia from El Salvador. “We could also talk to our families in person. They’re very worried and I want him to know that his family and the country are about to get him home.”

She went on to say that after meeting staff at the US embassy in El Salvador, she speculated that the “US government, aka Donald Trump,” had not taken steps to “promote” the release of Abrego Garcia from the Centre for Terrorism Confinement (CECOT) outside San Salvador.

“This is a matter of constitutional crisis,” Ansari claimed she had revealed that she had written to Secretary of State Marco Rubio to request “a regular confirmation of Kilmer Abrego Garcia’s life.”

“We want to know his health and happiness. We want him to have access to advice. Finally, he needs to be released,” the Arizona lawmaker said.

She also raised Andri Hernandez Romero, a Venezuelan national. Venezuelan citizens were deported to Cecot after being suspected of being a member of the Tren de Aragua (TDA) gang.

“We have also worked on letters and have made formal requests for other individuals illegally detained here in El Salvador, including 19-year-old Andri Hernandez Romero,” Ansari argued. “This was a 19-year-old gay artist who had legally come to the US through the CPB one app process and was also sent to Cecot because some of the tattoos he had were absurd.”

Despite Ansari, who states that Hernandez Romero is 19 years old, New Yorker Confirmed The man in question is actually 31 years old after talking to his family.

According to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Abrego Garcia and Hernandez Romero are in the gang.

Ansari accused other colleagues who still work in Congress of joining her in El Salvador and hoping to “ride the sunset” Trump, and of forgetting foreigners who were “illegally” deported.

So there are a lot of people who deal with this. Many people are unfairly detained and deported here, and we are defending them all. We will continue to put pressure on. One of the most important reasons we are here is because we know Donald Trump wants to die the story. He hopes he has to ride the sunset and fight the Supreme Court, and without looking back, it cannot happen. You have to keep putting pressure on. I hope that other members of Congress are here to see this for themselves and defend them for Kilmer, Andrey, and others who have been mistakenly taken into custody and deported. Also, if there are more updates, we will always share them.

That’s what Van Hollen’s trip was like. Taxpayer-fundedfour House Democrats complained in their press release that House Oversight Chairman James Kommer (R-TN) “refusing to approve” the official Congressional delegation request, and the funds were withheld from sources.
