San Francisco residents are now required to obtain permits for planters used to keep the homeless away.
Last summer, Breitbart News reported that residents of that Democratic-run city were raising money for common-sense solutions to terrible problems. At a cost of about $700 each, heavy planters filled with about 1,400 pounds of stone and soil were placed strategically on sidewalks to deter homeless people from setting up tents in front of homes and businesses. People were still able to come and go, but the extra space that could accommodate tents is now cordoned off.
A win-win, right?
This is not the place for the Democratic Party to be in charge.
Democrats run San Francisco without opposition, so common sense solutions are never allowed. Currently, residents and business owners must obtain a permit before installing planters.
“Some San Franciscans are concerned that the city is making it more difficult to install planters on sidewalks because homeless advocacy groups oppose their use. ” report of san francisco standard.
The report goes on to say that homeless advocates have declared planters “hostile structures,” and that the Department of Public Works will soon “require planter owners to obtain permits before installing them.” .
The permit requires “metal trenches to be planted with live plants and at least 72 inches of unobstructed sidewalk space for pedestrian access.”
“Live plants” are a way to make things even more difficult for home and business owners. One resident explained that homeless people are “digging up planters in some kind of illusory hope that they’ll find drugs buried there,” adding: And creative solutions. ”
my sympathy of The following “Larch Street Resident” is determined only by which party he voted for in the last election and which party he will vote for in the next election.
One Larch Street resident, who spoke anonymously for fear of retaliation from homeless advocates, said the Tenderloin Street planter had positively changed his life.
The resident explained that before the planters were installed, he could not sleep due to constant noise coming from the alley beneath the building, and late-night activities were moved elsewhere.
Planters on Larch Street covered much of the sidewalk when The Standard visited. Public Works recently began suing owners who block sidewalks with planters, warning that if they aren’t moved within 30 days, owners must pay for the removal.
So while Democrats refuse to kick drug addicts and psychopaths off the sidewalks, planters must go.
“I think it’s hard to give the city of San Francisco credit here,” says Hot Air’s John Sexton. add. “They forced people to install thousands of these planters knowing exactly why, and now they are accepting false accusations from a small group of activists to threaten people with fines. is.”
The bottom line is that Democrats want chaos, crime, homelessness, drug addiction, despair, filth, and degradation. Kick the good people out of the city, keep the bad people in, and import illegal aliens to make up for population loss so you don’t lose electoral votes or seats in Congress. This approach has only advantages. Democrats retain the right to vote, and after all ordinary people have fled, Democrats secure a permanent majority of power in cities and states.
I would appreciate a little more explanation as to why Democrats would complicate this simple but effective way for residents to protect their property and livelihoods.just read this beginning.
