Democratic strategist Julie Roginski told conservative CNN contributor Scott Jennings on Monday that she would join Americans protesting to stop the military from deporting illegal immigrants. He said he promised.
This topic discusses President-elect Donald Trump's promise to declare a national emergency due to the number of illegal immigrants in the country and to use military assets to help law enforcement carry out deportation operations. This topic came up when I was there.
“If someone were to come and grab these people and try to drag them out by force, there would be an outcry from Americans like me.”
Iraq war veteran Paul Riekoff acknowledged that voters clearly want something done to address the issue, but argued it shouldn't include the use of U.S. troops. did.
“What can we do instead of allowing the crisis to continue?” Jennings asked Rykov.
“It's not a matter of deploying the 82nd or continuing the crisis. There are a lot of compromises. And by the way, our military has a lot of other priorities to focus on right now in addition to those.” They want to resolve it. They don't want the 82nd Airborne to drop into New York City,” Rykov replied.
Roginski interjected, referring to a shelter for “illegal immigrants” in her Upper West Side neighborhood.
“I can promise you with all my heart, because I will probably be one of those people, that if someone comes and grabs these people and tries to drag them out by force, , there will be an outcry from American citizens like me. I'm going to stand there and do whatever I can,” Roginski said.
When former Trump administration official Mark Lotter asked Roginski about the group of criminals and suspected terrorists he wanted to protect, she became enraged.
“Stop! How do you know who it is? Stop, stop, stop! I live next door to these people. I know they are women and children… What I'm telling you now is essentially this: There are people, American citizens, who are going to stop these little kids from being taken out of the shelter…the military. What will happen to the military if they fire on us?'' Roginsky continued.
“We're going down the rabbit hole here,” Jennings responded.
