Mr. Suozzi (DN.Y.), 61, defeated Republican challenger Maji Pilip (RN.Y.) on Tuesday night, snatching another House Republican seat.

Suozzi won 93% of the vote, leading Pilip 53.9% to 46.1%.

“We won this race… because we found a way to address the issues and unite our division,” Suozzi said in his victory speech to supporters.

“We know that this election, like our nation as a whole, was fought in a deeply divided constituency. was the focus,” he continued.

Suozzi also said voters are tired of bickering and have criticized former President Donald Trump and his allies in Congress.

“Let’s send a message to our friends who are running Congress these days: Stop running around for Trump and start running the country,” he said. “It’s time to find common ground and start serving the people of the United States.”

Pilip announced that he congratulated the former Democratic Party representative on his victory.

“I called the other guy. I congratulated him,” Pilip told supporters at an election night rally. “We are warriors. Yes, we lost. But it doesn’t end here.”

Mr. Suozzi’s latest victory reduced the Republican majority in the House to 219-213, giving Republicans even more control of the chamber.

Santos also commented on Suozzi’s win in a post on Tuesday night’s X show, writing “-1.”

Winner also pinned Pilip as another version of George Santos.

“Who knows what she actually stands for? She’s George Santos 2.0. That’s the exact same opaque, bogus moron, just trying to get votes without saying what he really thinks.” “There is only one,” Suozzi charged on the eve of the election.

During the campaign, Suozzi tried to stay away from President Joe Biden, arguing that it would have hurt his campaign if Biden had joined him.

“The president is underwater in his district,” Suozzi told the Post last week. “I don’t think Joe Biden campaigning for me will help me.”

Suozzi was first elected to the House of Representatives in 2016 and was re-elected in 2020. He then ultimately gave up his seat to Gov. Kathy Hochul (D.N.Y.).
