Rep. Robert Garcia (D-Calif.) cited passages from the “Real Housewives” series to criticize former President Trump during a House Oversight Committee hearing Wednesday.
“So what do we Democrats have? We have receipts, we have evidence, we have timelines, we have screenshots of foreign governments funneling money into President Donald Trump's pockets through President Trump's estate in violation of the Constitution.” We have everything we need to conclusively prove that we are.” Garcia said.
The California Democrat cites “Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” star Heather Gay, who also has mixed evidence while slamming her co-star in the recent season finale. I made a similar comment about it.
Garcia's comment I got a virussparking an internet meme and a shout-out from Real Housewives host and producer Andy Cohen.
“Either this is a nice, brilliant callback to the Salt Lake City Housewives that completely blew my mind, or he's after a 20% off coupon at Beauty Lab and Laser.” said Cohen, referring to Gay's company.
Mr. Garcia responded to Mr. Cohen's cry.he said, “I've been gay @BravoTV since the days of the original OC Housewives series. I'm honored to be the first Congressman to quote a Housewife in the Congressional Record.”
Garcia and other House members were assembled for a hearing focused on the president's son, Hunter Biden, and his overseas business dealings. Democrats argued that Republicans were interested in the president's son's business dealings but were turning a blind eye when it came to former President Trump.
Democrats on the committee released a report last week that found President Trump received millions of dollars from foreign entities while in the White House. According to the report, Trump received at least $7.8 million in payments to his companies from foreign entities in 20 countries. Approximately $5.6 million was sent from China and sent to hotels in Washington and Las Vegas, as well as Trump Tower in New York.
The report said accepting the payments could violate the constitution, which prohibits accepting funding from foreign governments.
