Actor George Clooney acknowledged that Democrats have problems related to ordinary people and advised them to gain a sense of humor in the hopes of defeating President Donald Trump.
Clooney made a diagnosis in a one-on-one interview with well-known Broadway star Patty Lepon, describing him as an “optimist” about America’s future.
“From President Jackson to McCarthy, this, the authoritarians, the demagogues, it’s gone when they leave, and he’s gone,” Clooney said.
Clooney acknowledged that America faced a greater crisis during the Vietnam War and the civil rights era.
“We were in a much worse place. The only difference is the sources and the number of different sources,” he said.
Regarding the Democratic future, Clooney said he needs to find charisma.
“They don’t have anyone as charismatic as he is. He’s charismatic. He doesn’t take that away from him. He’s a TV star,” he said.
“If you’re a Democrat, you need to find someone who represents us better, someone who has a sense of humor and a sense of purpose,” Clooney added.

Clooney admitted that he noticed signs of Biden’s cognitive decline before his discussion with President Trump. For some reason, he didn’t call for Biden to resign until he was bombed on live television in his first discussion with Trump. Clooney told Tupper that he wrote an op-ed to ultimately tell the truth.
“When people saw it on my side of the street without telling the truth, I thought it was time,” he said.
Clooney also admitted that some people still admitted he was “mad” given that Vice President Kamala Harris not only lost his electoral college, but also the popular vote for Trump.
“It’s certainly some people,” he replied. “That’s fine. You know. Listen to the idea of free speech, you know the specific idea of it, you can’t demand free speech and then say anything bad about me.
