Democrats Drive Up Prices

North Carolina Senate Candidate Critiques Democratic Policies

Michael Whatley, a Republican Senate candidate in North Carolina, recently expressed his views on rising prices during an appearance on his show. He attributes these increases to Democratic policies, claiming they are “pushing prices through the roof.”

When asked about the Republican strategy for addressing economic issues ahead of the midterm elections, Whatley emphasized the need to highlight successes achieved during President Donald Trump’s administration. He feels confident about presenting a detailed list of these economic achievements, especially as Democrats also attempt to confront affordability challenges.

“We need to showcase economic success,” Whatley stated. He reminisced about his numerous media engagements around the previous election where discussions often centered on rising food, gas, and housing costs. “It might not explicitly be labeled as affordability, but it definitely boils down to that,” he noted, indicating that both parties are addressing similar concerns but from different angles.

Whatley further criticized the impacts of Democratic leadership, particularly under President Joe Biden and North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper. He pointed out that home prices, healthcare costs, and gas prices have all risen significantly in the state since Biden took office.

“I want to focus on affordability. We need to look at the changes from 2016, when Cooper first won, to now,” he said. “They’re addressing affordability, yet prices for healthcare, food, gas, and housing are just continuing to climb. It’s the Democrats who are driving these costs skyward!”

Additionally, he mentioned Trump’s ongoing efforts to control prices while simultaneously creating jobs and increasing wages. “That’s the strategy we require here in North Carolina and across the nation,” he concluded.
