According to a Gallup poll, Released ThursdayAccording to a survey by the Democratic Party, 78% of Democrats or Democratic leaners say they feel “more enthusiastic than usual to vote” compared to past elections, while 64% of Republicans or Republican leaners say the same about this election, with just 68 days left.

a Similar studies According to polling companies, a survey released in March found that just 55% of Democrats and 59% of Republicans said they were looking forward to voting in November.

Just under 80% of survey respondents said they had thought about the election “a lot,” beating the previous record of 74% in August 2008.

“Given that more Americans typically pay attention to the election as it approaches Election Day than in August, 2024 will see election-related thoughts reach new heights at the end of the campaign,” the pollsters wrote. “Currently, the 2004 reading of 84% is the highest Gallup has measured just before Election Day.”

The left's energy also comes as Vice President Harris rose to the top of the Democratic field last month after President Biden left office, and many Democrats believe she has a better chance of beating former President Trump than Biden.

The vice president has also seen her popularity grow in recent polls, with her approval rating at 49.5% in The Hill/Decision Desk average of national polls, giving her a 4.3% lead over President Trump's 45.2%.

Overall, 69% of Americans said they feel more enthusiastic than usual about voting in 2024 compared to past elections, according to the survey, while only 23% said they felt “less enthusiastic.”

Harris and Trump are scheduled to face off in an ABC News debate on Sept. 10. But Trump, who had recently expressed doubts about whether he would take part in the debate, said Tuesday that the details had been “agreed upon.”

The Gallup poll of 1,015 people was conducted Aug. 1-20, primarily ahead of the Democratic National Convention, and has a margin of error of plus or minus 4 percentage points at the 95 percent confidence level.
