Former Bush spokesman Pete Sheet has denounced Democrats for criticism of Trump's administration's policies, saying party lawmakers are “dropping more F-bombs than they do in 'Big Lebowski'.”
Sheet commented on CNN on Thursday in response to a statement from Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif) early on the day he accused Trump of trying to launch a civil war.
“But as I listen to her and her apocalyptic foreboding, I see some of her colleagues in the House of Representatives, and the Senate drops more F-bombs than “Big Lebowski.”
President Trump's longtime critic Waters said Thursday that the early floods of presidential policy — destructive tariffs, massive firing of federal employees and empowerment from tech billionaire Elon Musk, meant to thwart the government and the services it offers.
“This president puts us in a position where hungry people are on the streets. Nonprofits who were waiting for checks are not going to get them. Elderly people waiting for social security checks won't get them. She told reporters during the withdrawal of the Democratic annual issue in northern Virginia.
“So, what is Trump expecting when that happens? Ah, I believe he expects violence. I think he expects conflict. I think he's working towards civil war,” she added.
Speaking at the retreat, Oregon's second-term Democrat, Andrea Salinas, also strongly criticized the administration.
“Trump lied to those who voted for him, and I know that people in my district who voted for him didn't vote for this S-Storm,” Salinas said during a press conference during the Democratic annual strategic retreat in Leesburg, Virginia.
“They didn't vote for it. It wasn't a deal.”
Other Democrats have also expressed concern over the Trump administration's issues, often using strong language.
Last month, Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) delivered a short, dull message to outside Capitol technology billionaire and government efficiency director Elon Musk.
“If you could speak directly to Elon Musk, what would you say?” a reporter now asks her in a clip.Wide distributionOn social media.
“F—Off,” replied Crockett.
