“And these crazy left-wing socialists are chasing them – a more rational Democrat. Now [Sen. Dick] Durbin is a professional politician, but he is not an unreasonable person and he is not a crazy left-wing madman socialist,” he said.
For this reason, Blagojevich predicted that future midterm elections would actually be non-traditional, as he believes that minorities, or Democrats, will fight. Democrats will “run left” in 2026, he predicted.
“Then there will be an opportunity for rational people with common sense to win places that were not actually friendly to non-democratic candidates,” he said.

Blagojevich said this is why Illinois believes he is competitive in the next election cycle.
