Democrats Have a Better Choice Than Biden

Left-leaning actress, comedian and TV host Rosie O’Donnell has joined the chorus of Hollywood elites calling for Joe Biden to step aside and for another candidate to emerge as the Democratic Party’s standard-bearer in the 2024 presidential election.

O’Donnell accessed her X account on Friday, article In an article written in February by left-wing commentator Ezra Klein, The New York Times In his editorial, Klain concluded that Joe Biden is not the best candidate for the presidential election in 2024. Klain urged someone in his party to convince Biden to step down and end his political career as a “hero” who committed to serving just one term for the good of the country.

Klein offered plenty of praise for Biden in his lengthy piece, but noted that polls even back in February showed Americans felt Biden was too old to win reelection and had little confidence in his intellectual acuity.

Klein also said that while Kamala Harris is well qualified and prepared to succeed Biden, she is less popular with voters and, in fact, is lower in opinion polls than Biden, so Democrats need to persuade Biden to decline re-election as soon as possible to give party leaders time to present an alternative to voters.

O’Donnell’s belated endorsement of Klein’s sermon from several months ago comes as a growing number of Hollywood elites are beginning to call for Biden to withdraw from the 2024 presidential race.

Of note, actor George Clooney, who has been a vocal supporter and fundraiser for Biden, said this month: The New York Times They called on Biden to step down.

Despite attending a Biden fundraiser just a month ago, Clooney argued that Biden is too old to run for a second term and would be a drag on Democrats across the country.

But Clooney is not the only one calling on Biden to stop campaigning. Others calling on Biden to stop campaigning include Endeavor CEO Ari Emanuel, Netflix co-founder Reed Hastings, veteran studio executive Barry Diller, lost Creator Damon Lindelof and actor Rob Reiner, one of Hollywood’s staunchest Biden supporters, called on the president to “step down” this week.
