During a broadcast on “CNN News Central” on Monday, New York Governor Kathy Hochul stated that the focus has shifted away from the upcoming 2024 election and the ongoing need to ensure the safety of residents.
Hochul emphasized that New Yorkers prioritize two key concerns: their safety and that of their families, questioning whether they can feel secure while commuting on public transport.
Co-host Kate Bordian inquired if this shift indicated an electoral misstep. Hochul responded by noting that, for many years, the rights of defendants have been upheld, but highlighted changes in the law that allowed some violent offenders to roam freely.
