In recent years, Democrats have frequently echoed the phrase, “no one is above the law,” particularly in reference to former President Trump. However, now a member of their own ranks finds themselves facing legal troubles, prompting claims of injustice.
Representative Lamonica Mciver (D-N.J.) was officially charged with assault, obstruction, and interfering with law enforcement last month. This follows allegations that she assaulted two federal agents at a detention facility known as Delaney Hall in New Jersey.
The ICE facility was the scene of an incident involving McIver and two other lawmakers from New Jersey, where McIver reportedly assaulted agents from Homeland Security and ICE, according to newly released charging documents.
The documents indicate that McIver “pushed an ICE officer and used her forearm to strike the agent.”
“Indeed, Congresswoman, no one is above the law,” commented Sarah Gonzalez from BlazetV. “People on the left might label this as fascism.”
She went on to question the legitimacy of the indictments against Trump, contrasting those with McIver’s alleged actions. “It wasn’t about assaulting ICE officers or obstructing police—it’s quite different,” she remarked.
Gonzalez further reflected on the situation, suggesting that the consequences are finally catching up with those in power.
Pat Gray from BlazetV expressed strong agreement, pointing out that video evidence appears to support claims of McIver pushing the officers, which could substantiate the assault charge. “Honestly, they don’t have much ground to complain here,” he added.
