Democrats privately gripe about Pelosi’s ‘damaging’ post-election comments: ‘She needs to take a seat’

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) was once a giant in Democratic politics, but now she appears to be at odds with President Biden and some House Democrats.

Mr. Biden made history by resigning from the Democratic Party's election after weeks of defections from Democratic senators who had begged him to withdraw, and there were reports that Mr. Pelosi was coordinating efforts to force him to resign. Ta. Since then, their relationship has cooled down.

After Vice President Kamala Harris' defeat, Pelosi pointed at Biden and said “it would have been different” if she had resigned sooner, saying on The New York Times podcast “The Interview” that “the president… I wish he had resigned sooner.” There may have been other candidates.

However, her post-election views are not well-received among some members of the party.

Axios reportedin an article headlined “Scoop: House Democrats are fed up with Pelosi,'' said that while she “still instills fear in the lawmakers she led for 20 years,'' some Democrats “I'm clearly frustrated that Ms. Pelosi hasn't faded into the sunset as promised,” he said. She lost her gavel two years ago. ”

An anonymous Democratic official responded to Pelosi's comments about what she thought went wrong in the election.

“She needs to take a seat,” the lawmaker told the press. “Disorganized comments are not only unhelpful, they are harmful.”

“We understand this is a difficult transition for her to not be a leader, but she is not,” a member of the Congressional Black Caucus told Axios.

The anonymous lawmaker argued that Pelosi was not making way for her successor, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, saying, “Mr. Hakeem has been very gracious and respectful, but I don't think she respects Mr. Pelosi. I don't think there is,” he said.

“She needs to understand what her new role is,” the member concluded.

A spokesperson for Pelosi told Fox News Digital: “Speaker Pelosi is extremely proud of Leader Hakeem Jeffries and the skillful management of the House Democratic Caucus. We all stand by his leadership. “We should congratulate House Democrats on the tremendous progress they've made.”
