Democrats Tell Laken Riley’s Family ‘They Do Not Care’

Sen. Roger Marshall (R-Kan.) said that Senate Democrats’ blocking of an impeachment trial against Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas was a sign that “they believe they were responsible for the killing of 22-year-old Laken Riley.” “It shows that they don’t care,” he said. Hands of illegal aliens.

Senate Democrats voted 51-48 on Wednesday to halt the impeachment trial against Mayorkas, arguing that the original article of impeachment approved by the House did not rise to the level of a “felony.”

Senate Democrats’ blocking of an impeachment trial against Mayorkas comes after José Antonio Ybarra, 26, an undocumented immigrant from Venezuela, was released into the U.S. mainland thanks to Mayorkas’ parole pipeline. .

Ybarra was arrested and charged in February with the brutal murder of nursing student Laken Riley on the University of Georgia (UGA) campus.

“Today, Senate Democrats chose political expediency over holding a trial for Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas,” Marshall said in a statement.

By voting to block Mayorkas’ impeachment trial, Senate Democrats signaled to Laken Riley’s family that they don’t care that an illegal immigrant killed their daughter. They want to remind every family who has lost a loved one to fentanyl poisoning that the deadliest drug they have ever seen is flooding across our borders, killing 300 Americans a day. He claims that he doesn’t care that he is there. [Emphasis added]

Similarly, Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) said, “This is a sad day in the history of the United States Senate,” following the vote to dismiss the impeachment charges.

The current Secretary of Homeland Security has refused to fulfill his primary mission of ensuring the safety of our homeland. Under his leadership, more than 9.4 million immigrants have been welcomed into our country illegally, including potential terrorists and dangerous criminals who have harmed Americans.

Thousands of immigrant children have been used, abused and recycled by cartels. It is unbelievable that we would allow something like this to happen in the United States. [Emphasis added]

If this partisan cover-up were happening within the Republican Party, it would be an uproar on front pages across America. Rejecting articles of impeachment against Secretary Mayorkas without allowing senators and their representatives to hear the evidence is an unprecedented disservice to the American people. Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio) slammed the vote. write Mayorkas said on Twitter that there was “clear” evidence of misconduct during his time as DHS secretary.

“Today, Senate Democrats protected Mr. Biden’s open borders by refusing to even hold a trial for Secretary Mayorkas’ clearly illegal actions,” Vance wrote. “They also set a precedent that would make the U.S. Senate even cheaper.”

Sen. Bill Hagerty (R-Tenn.) noted that Democrats fully support President Joe Biden’s parole pipeline, which helped lead to Ybarra’s release into U.S. soil. Two weeks ago, for example, the government rejected Hagerty’s amendment to close the parole pipeline.

“[Mayorkas] He abused his case-by-case parole powers beyond imagination. He doesn’t resettle 30,000 illegal aliens on planes to the United States every month. This is a clear violation of the law, and in particular an abuse of parole laws. ”
