Peter Navarro Speaks Out on Prison Experience and Accountability

During a recent appearance on *Breitbart Fight Club*, Peter Navarro reflected on being imprisoned and promoted his book, *I Went to Prison So You Don’t Need To: A Story of Love and Law on the Land of Trump*. He emphasized the importance of reading his book for various reasons.

“It’s really about accountability,” Navarro noted, sharing how he served time for a misdemeanor, while considering the long list of more serious offenses that others have committed. He quickly transitioned into detailing his experiences in prison.

Interestingly, Navarro mentioned how many inmates still support President Trump for a variety of reasons, particularly pointing to Trump’s fulfillment of his prison reform promises in contrast to President Biden, who he argues has not delivered on similar pledges. Recalling his time in the yard, he shared a funny encounter with other inmates who immediately recognized he wasn’t a snitch, suggesting they did their homework on him.

“While I was there, I devoted my time to addressing the First Step Act, a billion-dollar issue,” he explained. He likened the effort to reporting, stating, “It’s a test of your will.”

In the introduction of his book, written by Steve Bannon, Navarro expressed that the narrative is more about the reader than himself. He stated, “I exist in a world where they can come and take your freedom away.”

When asked about maintaining focus, Navarro highlighted the significance of establishing a routine, sharing that his daily journal eventually evolved into what became his book. He noted his discovery of a major scandal linked to the First Step Act during that period.

In closing, Navarro remarked, “The Democrats probably still think about the day they put me behind bars because of what I witnessed and what’s transpiring now under Trump’s oversight.”
