Gov. Kathy Hochul and fellow Democrats failed last year in an attempt to disrespect voters and rig maps of congressional districts. Of course, they will try again this year.
On Thursday, an appeals panel is set to hear a special new zoning claim that claims the map produced last year applies only to 2022.
Of course, it’s stilted nonsense, which is why the Albany County Supreme Court dismissed it.
But this time, the evil Democrats are plotting a potentially successful conspiracy—voters should be cursed.
Last year, the Democrats tried to push through a gerrymander map that was set to win just four Republican House seats (out of 26) from New York state.
This went against the voter-mandated language in the 2014 state constitution, which explicitly prohibits gerrymandering.
The court then destroyed (natches) the map and appointed a special master to create an impartial map. As a result, Republicans won 11 seats instead of 4, helping to restore the House to Republicans.
Now the Democrats are once again defying voters and seeking gerrymandering opportunities.
And yet again, their insistence that last year’s map needs to be redrawn runs counter to the text of the constitution, this time banning mid-decade divisions.
Such a move would also confuse voters, many of whom may live in another new district after moving districts last year.
Of course, Democrats don’t care about that. They are determined to rig the map and lock in Democratic control wherever.
And this time they got an ace of holes. The Court of Appeals (the state’s supreme court) is headed by Chief Justice Rowan Wilson, specially selected for progressive integrity.
Far-left lawmakers rejected Ho-chol’s first nomination, Hector Lassalle, saying he could not be expected to ignore the law and carry out his orders. (It’s true: they effectively admitted the same thing.)
If the Democrats lose at the appeals level now, which they clearly should, they think they’ll just get the appeals court to green light new gerrymandering that could shut the Republicans out again.

So they rigged the High Court so they could rig the map.
New York suffers from high crime rates, soaring taxes, school chaos, and many other challenges under the one-party rule of the Democratic Party.
If they go through with their new plan to gerrymander and secure Democratic seats, they will not only be snubbed by voters, but they will also inform Washington of their disastrous policies.
