Sen. Andy Kim (D-NJ) said Sunday that Democrats are considering the Trump administration not to fund the government by “meeting the press” on NBC.
“In a few weeks, Republicans are going to try and understand how they will move forward, and they have needed a democratic vote for all ongoing resolution over the past two years,” Kim said. .time.”
Host Kristen Welker said, “Are you ready to shut down the government?”
Kim said, “We have to see what the Trump administration is doing right now. They're trying to dismantle the government. That's right.”
He added: And to allow us to support government funds in that way, and to dismantle the government just to turn it around. That should not be allowed. ”
Welker said, “To be clear, Senator, are you accepting to vote Jesus to shut down the government?”
Kim said, “This is with them. It's about whether they can get the votes. They're the majority. If they can't govern, that's what the Americans see. I have worked for government. I have worked through multiple government closures. I will be the last person who wants to reach that stage, but we are basically at the pinnacle of a constitutional crisis. We see this administration taking very illegal measures.”
