Denise Richards Granted Restraining Order Against Aaron Phypers

LOS ANGELES – On Friday, a restraining order request from Denise Richards was approved.

The “Wild Things” star had initially secured a preliminary order against her estranged husband, Aaron Phypers, shortly after filing for divorce in July. This restraining order is set to last until November 7, 2030.

Phypers, who is 53, faced arraignment last month on allegations of spousal abuse tied to incidents from 2017 and 2022, as revealed by documents.

In court, it was noted that Phypers became contentious with security while being escorted out. He was released later that day after posting $200,000 bail, with a follow-up court date scheduled for December.

During her testimony, Richards claimed that Phypers endeavored to damage her reputation and even leaked nude photos of her. She stated that such actions were distressing for her daughters. “It was hard for them, especially the naked photos,” she explained. “As a mother, it’s just embarrassing.” One of her daughters expressed vulnerability, saying, “I couldn’t even go to church.”

Richards accused Phypers of stealing her computer and sharing personal information including nude images with the media. Following her complaint, the judge ordered him to return the device within two days.

Phypers has filed for divorce as well, asking for spousal support, citing irreconcilable differences. Just ten days post her restraining order request, Richards received approval for it.

In her filing, Richards recounted instances of severe abuse, mentioning how Phypers had physically assaulted her in a multitude of ways, including strangulation and threats to her life. “He made me beg him to stop,” she recalled, noting that it was a distressing experience.

During her court appearance, Richards broke down while recounting past abuse, particularly an incident post-surgery at a hotel where Phypers allegedly became “volatile.” She referred to him as a “narcissist” and presented videos highlighting instances of the abuse she faced.

In the midst of these tragic events, Phypers has also requested a portion of Richards’ income from her OnlyFans account, claiming they jointly contributed to its content. He asserts that he is facing financial struggles and needs immediate access to funds.

Phypers publicly denied the allegations against him, insisting that he has never been abusive and expressed hope that their privacy would be respected amid these accusations.
