Denise Richards Opens Up About Her Facelift

Denise Richards is sharing details about her recent facelift. The actress, currently 55, underwent the procedure in 2025 and discussed her transformation, recovery, and the reactions from her daughters in a new interview.

“I wanted things to go back to how they were before,” Richards mentioned, reflecting on her choice. This marks her first foray into facial surgery after having breast implants at 19 and various revision surgeries since then.

“It was scary,” she admitted. Given her long presence in the public eye, she noted that people have watched her age and, as such, she couldn’t hide the surgery. “I’ve been in the spotlight since my 20s.”

Richards described the difference post-surgery as “night and day,” and expressed surprise about how other celebrities have started confiding in her regarding personal matters since her own adjustments.

She emphasized that the glitz of Hollywood often masks deeper stories behind the apparent youthfulness of stars, stating, “It’s not just serums and workouts.” Richard felt a sense of trust in her surgeon, Dr. Ben Talei, saying, “You’re an artist; you can do whatever you want.”

However, her healing process became tumultuous. Just ten days after her surgery, she began dealing with her divorce from Aaron Phypers, making her recovery a bit more complex than she anticipated. “Unfortunately, I started preparing for my divorce during the second week,” she recounted.

Phypers filed for the divorce on July 7, citing irreconcilable differences. Their tumultuous relationship included Richards seeking a restraining order against him shortly after the divorce filing.

“During our divorce, my ex revealed that I had plastic surgery, which was frustrating,” she shared, reflecting on how the personal experiences intertwined with her surgery discussions.

Richards mentioned that her daughters were initially against her decision to undergo surgery. “They were worried about me,” she said, adding, “But I think they understand now that I’m still me.” She recounted a conversation that highlighted the irony in her family’s views on cosmetic procedures, especially given one of her daughter’s prior surgery experiences.

Despite the pushback, Richards stood firm. “This is what I want to do,” she affirmed, indicating that her choice was ultimately about her and her happiness.

The actress, who shares two daughters, Sami and Lola, with ex-husband Charlie Sheen, also adopted a daughter named Eloise. Through all the ups and downs, Richards seems to be focused on finding herself amid the changes. “I’m just trying to get things back on track,” she concluded.
