Dennis Richards has secured a temporary restraining order against her estranged husband, Aaron Phypers, amid allegations of domestic violence. In legal documents she filed, the 54-year-old actress outlined various instances of abuse she reportedly experienced during their marriage, claiming that Phypers would often physically assault her, including suffocating her and threatening her life.
Richards claimed that throughout their relationship, Phypers would regularly engage in violent behavior, notably squeezing her head and slamming her against objects. She recounted specific threats, saying he would often say he would “break my chin” or cry and ask her to stay, while also promising to seek help.
Expressing her fear, Richards noted that she hesitated to reach out to authorities for help, fearing retaliation. She cited several threats made by Phypers, including one where he implied he would “disappear” if she called the police.
The latest incident of alleged violence is said to have occurred between July 4th and July 14th. Phypers initiated the divorce proceedings a few days later, on July 7th. In his filing, he noted the separation date as July 4th, explaining that they had been married since 2018 and that they do not have children together.
Richards has two daughters from her previous marriage to Charlie Sheen, and she adopted another daughter in 2011. The documents show that Phypers is seeking spousal support, citing that Richards earns a substantial income of over $250,000 a month from her various careers, while he had reportedly earned no income over the last year following the closure of his business.
Phypers outlined a monthly expense of around $105,000 for their lifestyle, which included significant amounts for clothing, rent, groceries, utilities, dining out, and entertainment.
