Time is a flat circle.
“True Detective” stars Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson recently reunited for attention-grabbing ads added by other stars such as Dennis Quaid, Renée Zellweger and Billy Bob Thornton.
“It was a really fun day. It all took about three hours. And Quaid, 70, posted exclusively about filming the commercial.
The ad was called “True to Texas,” and was created by George Lane and directed by Nic Pizzolatto, creator of “True Detective.” Its purpose is to encourage filmmakers to make Texas a creative destination and encourage Lone Star State legislature to create new incentives for state films and television productions.
Born and raised in the state, Quaid joined Texan Harrelson, famous for his ads, and 55-year-old McConaughey, as all three actors drive around in on-screen cars.
In the exclusive posted photos, you can see them smiling at the car in between take. They also call Texas-born Texas-born Thornton and 55-year-old Zelweger to discuss their desire to bring the film and television industry to more Texas.
“We put Billy Bob in. He's not from Texas, but he played Davy Crockett, so that's enough for us,” Quaid said.
Quaid, who was also in one of the 2025 Oscar-nominated films, “The Substance,” said he and McConaughey first met when McConaughey was “a long return with the Lakers game” when he was at the beginning of his career. I've explained it.
“He's great. We're all Texans,” Quaid said.
“We share a mentality. There are a lot of actors coming from Texas. They leave to go to a place where they have business. I'm happy to be home and do something. [Texas has] We competed with Georgia, Oklahoma. ”
Quaid noted that Texas is a “surrounded” state with a booming film industry, such as Georgia.
“The problem is Texas. [is] Income tax state. I think Texas has a $58 billion surplus. But we're working to make sure it's a tax credit that can be replenished when it's gone. It's a chance to bring the industry back to Texas,” Quaid said.
“We really want to be a new Hollywood, and we want to bring back the crew members who have to leave to go to work in Oklahoma, Georgia and Mexico. “People are there.” ” and the “parent trap” star added. “It really just provides the infrastructure and a way to compete to do this.”
