With 16 laps remaining, Larson was within half a second of Hamlin. With two laps remaining, No. 5 was about 0.25 seconds behind Hamlin. However, he was unable to catch number 11.
When Hamlin got out of his car, he was greeted with a mix of cheers and boos.
“I think it was a really important moment. Kyle did a really good job on the green flag pit cycle and then on the restart we were able to take the lead and it allowed us to be in careful control. It’s a restart,” Hamlin told Fox Sports’ Regan Smith. “It definitely feels good to win here at Dover.
Hamlin’s Würth 400 victory was the 54th of his career. He moved into a tie for 12th all-time with Lee Petty. His third win ties Byron for the most this season.

“It’s really great,” Hamlin said of the partnership with Petty. “I didn’t get to hold Lee Petty’s helmet. I’ve been blessed with a great race team. … Everyone who supports 11 cars, they’re what makes it happen. Driving it. I’m lucky to be able to do that.” ”
Hamlin led 136 of 400 laps on the course, known as the “Monster Mile.”
He already looks like he could qualify for the playoffs with wins at Richmond and Bristol earlier this season.
Even if Larson finishes second, he will maintain first place in the drivers’ standings. Kyle Busch and Chase Elliott finished behind Truex to round out the top five. Noah Gragson, Ryan Blaney, Alex Bowman, Daniel Hemric and Ty Gibbs rounded out the top 10.
Truex won last year’s Dover Spring Race.
