Just 11 days prior to the murders of an Ohio dentist and his wife, a nearby resident made a 911 call around 2:30 a.m. reporting repeated banging at her door that wouldn’t stop.
On December 30, Columbus police responded to a home in Wineland Park around 10 a.m., where they discovered the bodies of Spencer Tepe, 37, and Monique Tepe, 39. Both had sustained apparent gunshot wounds. Authorities have stated that their deaths aren’t being treated as a murder-suicide since there was no sign of forced entry and no weapon was recovered.
It is suspected that the murders occurred between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m. that same morning, and thankfully, the couple’s children were found safe in the home.
A 911 call from December 19, which was obtained by Fox News Digital, featured a woman stating someone was “knocking loudly” at her door at 2:31 a.m.
Records indicated the situation was deemed resolved by 2:44 a.m., and this incident occurred just a short walk from where the Tepe family lived.
Police have released surveillance footage showing a “person of interest” walking through an alley near the Tepe residence early on the morning of December 30. In the video, the individual is seen in a dark coat and light pants.
Later that morning, around 10:03 a.m., a friend of Spencer’s called 911, reporting a body inside the home. The caller expressed panic, saying, “There’s a dead body,” explaining that their friend hadn’t answered the phone and that they were concerned after checking in.
Spencer and Monique were reportedly preparing to celebrate their fifth wedding anniversary in January. Their family expressed deep sorrow in a statement, calling the deaths “tragic and senseless.” They described Spencer as an intelligent and warm-hearted individual, while Monique was remembered as a loving and fun mother.
Rob Misley, Spencer’s brother-in-law, highlighted that the couple’s bond was strong and enduring, as they married in 2021.
