Tragic News About Missing Denver Hairstylist
Jax Gratton, a 34-year-old hairstylist who went missing in Denver back in April, has been confirmed dead, according to her mother.
Cherilynne Gratton-Camis shared this heartbreaking news in a Facebook post on Saturday, expressing that her daughter was “taken too soon from this world.”
In an emotional message, she stated, “With a heavy heart, we announce that our beloved Jax Gratton has been found. She is no longer with us.”
Gratton-Camis went on to describe the profound sadness the family feels. “Words can’t fully express the sorrow we experience. The light she brought, the love she freely gave, and the joy she shared with us were taken away far too quickly.”
She expressed gratitude toward everyone who supported them during this difficult time. “I want to thank everyone who showed up for us—those who shared her story, her image, and sent prayers, hopes, and thoughts our way.”
In her post, she reflected on how Jax, as a trans woman, helped her comprehend the challenges faced by the LGBTQIA+ community “in a way I cannot ignore.”
“It’s not just about Jax; it’s about all the individuals in the LGBTQIA+ community who bravely confront the world each day,” she added.
Gratton-Camis described Jax as a beacon of light. “I know she illuminated the lives of many just by being herself—fierce and relentless. I can see her spirit in every act of love and strength shown to us.”
The Lakewood Police Department has confirmed that a body was found on Friday. According to her family, Jax was last seen leaving her Denver apartment around 10 PM on April 15. She had told her roommate she was going out for about three hours but did not return.
Her mother expressed fear that something terrible happened to her. “I worry that someone harmed her,” Gratton-Camis said, referencing prior abusive situations Jax had faced.
