Denver pastor speaks out: ‘Silence on biblical matters means being complicit with evil’

Cultural Shift in Colorado Challenges Local Pastor

Pastor Jeff Schwarzentraub of Brave Church in Denver, Colorado, is grappling with how his state has transformed. What used to be viewed as a simple political discussion is now being seen as a pressing biblical concern.

He comments, “People don’t move to Denver for the sense of community; it’s really about hedonism.” Blaze TV host Allie Beth Stuckey remarked on the situation by describing Denver as “the happiest group of lost people on the planet.”

“It’s strange how Colorado has evolved into such a secular and progressive place. This wasn’t always the case; it was once a conservative bastion. I think the influx of people from blue states and various immigration patterns have really shifted both the demographics and the political landscape. Now, it seems to be leading the charge in progressive ideologies, much like California, Oregon, and Washington,” she added.

“Currently, we’re seeing the most extreme forms of transgender ideology being enacted into law in Colorado,” she pointed out.

Schwarzentraub noted that things worsened significantly in 2020. He explained that when the church opted to stay open during the pandemic, they faced threats from health authorities and even fellow Christians, accusing them of lacking compassion.

He stated, “What we’re witnessing is a wave of progressive ideology. For example, House Bill 1312 was passed after being modified due to public opposition. Essentially, it allows for drastic actions regarding children without parental consent, including castration.” He further reflected that the debate has shifted, transforming from one of right vs. left to what he believes is a clear line of right and wrong.

“Even though I was raised not to get involved in politics, I see these issues as biblical rather than political. The transgender topic is fundamentally a biblical issue. God created two genders: male and female. You can’t even read Genesis 1 without recognizing that,” he stated.

Though he expressed a reluctance to engage in political matters, he added, “Remaining silent on biblical issues equates to complicity in wrongdoing. That is something I cannot accept.”
