Denzel Washington has received a ministerial license as the 69-year-old movie star takes on a new role in his life.
Washington was baptized by Archbishop Christopher Bryant on Saturday at the Kelly Temple in New York City.
“It took a while, but we're finally here… [God] According to Bryant, Washington told him, “You can do this for me. There's nothing you can't do. Literally, the sky is the limit.”

“Today we celebrate Pastor Denzel Washington receiving his license to minister in the Church of Christ and being added to the clergy in a truly uplifting moment,” the post reads.
“He's dressed that way because he was baptized in water at the same service,” Bryant added. “Both his baptism and licensure took place at New York's historic Kelly Temple, a place close to his heart. Denzel Washington attended this church as a child and attended another church with actor Robert Townsend. He testified that he was filled with the Holy Spirit after visiting “80s. ”

Fox News Digital has reached out to representatives in Washington for additional comment.
“Denzel Washington's recent commitment to faith and service is truly inspiring,” Bryant added. Another Facebook post. “His baptism and license to preach are the culmination of his religious life.”

Washington recently admitted that he “can't talk” about religion within the industry.
“If you look at me, you'll see I'm doing the best I can with what my Lord and Savior has given me,” the “Gladiator II” star wrote. esquire. “I'm not scared.”

But the Academy Award-winning actor doesn't know how many other actors believe in God.
“We don't all get together somewhere and talk about what we believe, so we don't know how many other actors have other faiths. We didn't do a poll. How do I find out? So there are no church actors.'' The conference I attended. ”
Washington landed her breakthrough role in the medical drama “St. Elsewhere” in 1982. He received multiple nominations for his work on this show and was eventually able to break into the film industry.
Washington is known for films such as “Fences,” “Training Day,” “The Book of Eli,” “Cry Freedom” and “Malcolm X.”
