Sheriff Jeff Garrer of Harford County, Maryland, says 29-year-old Kilmer Abrego Garcia, an illegal alien deported by the Trump administration to his hometown of El Salvador, is “1000%,” a member of the violent MS-13 gang and a domestic abuser.
Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) traveled to El Salvador this week to visit Abrego Garcia, a mega prison in El Salvador, after being deported last month by President Donald Trump’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
Van Hollen is calling for Abrego Garcia to be returned to the United States with the support of other Democrats, including Maryland Gov. Wes Moore (D) and presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.
Garler told Fox News Thursday that Van Hollen’s efforts were “terrifying,” and told Abrego Garcia is a member of the MS-13 and a documented domestic abuser.
“Are you sure he’s a member of the MS-13 gang from the White House?” asked Gerler.
“Yeah, 1000%. Yes, 1000%, definitely. No doubt,” Garler said of Abrego Garcia’s gang membership.
“Not only that, he is a domestic violence abuser. In our community, we screen him for working with ice.
He had previously experienced deletion procedures and they asked him to be removed, but he was still here. Praise of the Trump administration for eliminating criminals. It’s scary to Senator Van Hollen who wants to bring him back. [Emphasis added]
DHS secretary Kristi Noem has released a document aimed at certifying his membership in MS-13 gangster Abrego Garcia.
Documents say when Abrego Garcia was arrested in Prince George County, Maryland in 2019, he received cash and drug rolls on his person, along with two recorded MS-13 gang members.
DHS also points to a local police report, where his clothes were found to match those of members of the MS-13 gang.
“When he was arrested, he was wearing a sweatshirt with a roll of money covering the president’s ears, mouths and eyes in various currencies,” a DHS press release said. “This is a known MS-13 gang symbol.
The police report also states that a trusted criminal informant has confirmed Abrego Garcia’s membership in the MS-13 gang and even explained his rankings in the gang to the police.

The DHS release also found that two federal immigration judges determined that Abrego Garcia was a member of the MS-13 gang and was reliable enough to maintain custody of immigration and customs enforcement (ICE) until he was later released.
Abrego Garcia was denied exile, but was given an order to protect the country after claiming he feared being persecuted by rivals of MS-13, a gangster on 18th Street.
More recently, documents show that Abrego Garcia’s wife, Jennifer Vasquez, petitioned a protection order to Maryland court for her husband after accusing her of beating her.

Similarly, a new report from the Tennessee Star I’ll suggest Abrego Garcia was involved in human trafficking operations in December 2022.
“Conclusion: Kilmer Abrego Garcia is an illegal foreigner of violent criminals and a member of the MS-13 gang. He belongs to the back of bars and American soil,” a DHS press release said.
