Florida deputies rescued an unconscious woman from a house fire on Sunday. Body camera footage from Deputy Austin Graham of the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office shows him making a forceful entry into the home after receiving reports of the fire.

Upon entering, Graham found the woman unresponsive on the hallway floor and immediately carried her outside. In the video, he can be heard reassuring her, saying, “Okay, ma’am, I understand.”

After removing her from the house, another deputy assisted in getting her to safety. She was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition but is expected to recover fully. Fortunately, Graham was evaluated for smoke inhalation on the scene but didn’t require hospitalization.

The sheriff’s office later shared on Facebook, “Great news! At last update, she was in stable condition and expected to make a full recovery! The fire appears to have resulted from an accident in the kitchen.”

This incident follows a tragic house fire in Washington state just weeks prior that claimed the lives of numerous dogs at a breeding facility. Firefighters responded in late January after a neighbor reported the situation. Unfortunately, when they arrived, the home was fully engulfed in flames.

Authorities contacted the homeowner by checking the license plate of a vehicle parked outside. Although the owner wasn’t present initially, they showed up shortly afterward.

Ironically, while firefighters managed to save three dogs, about 40 others were lost in that fire, as noted by fire department spokesperson Iliana Limarzi.
