Delpit Talks Rivals Before AFC North Clash

Grant Delpit made headlines last NFL season when he delivered a strong tackle that took down 252-pound running back Derrick Henry. Now, as the Cleveland Browns and Baltimore Ravens are set to face off, Delpit seems to be stirring the pot a bit by downplaying the challenge of tackling Henry.

“It’s not difficult,” Delpit said when questioned about the task ahead. Henry, however, responded in a way that suggests he’s ready for action. “He had a quote,” he remarked. “We’ll see it on Sunday.”

This matchup is highly anticipated, especially since both teams experienced losses in their season openers. Henry notably finished a narrow defeat against the Buffalo Bills with an impressive 169 rushing yards. It looks like a showdown—again.

Reflecting on their previous encounters, Delpit and teammate Denzel Ward were the ones who notably made clear impacts when facing Henry. After completing a well-timed tackle last October, Delpit even celebrated, perhaps playfully, as if to call attention to his achievement.

Henry, who spent his first eight NFL seasons with the Titans, now plays for the Ravens after signing in 2024. Interestingly, he hasn’t had much success against the Browns; in fact, he’s only rushed for over 75 yards in one of his last three games against them.

The pre-game banter isn’t limited to Delpit, though. Browns receiver Jerry Judy also weighed in, seemingly dismissing the Ravens’ secondary, which features a roster filled with former first-round picks.

Quarterback Josh Allen showcased a strong performance against the Ravens’ defense last week, throwing for a staggering 394 yards. Judy went as far as to claim the Ravens’ defenders pose “no challenge,” even noting he hasn’t managed to score a touchdown against them yet.

Ravens Safety Kyle Hamilton shrugged off the criticisms, describing them as “forum material.” He commented, “Did I not play hard before he said that? If you need message board materials to go and play… that’s a problem for you.”
