Dershowitz on Epstein docs: ‘I want everything out’

Attorney Alan Dershowitz on Tuesday demanded the release of all names associated with his former client Jeffrey Epstein, insisting that he “did nothing wrong.”

That's why I wanted to make everything public, but I don't think the judge made everything public. I think she was selective about what she published, which is unfair. I want every document, every piece of paper, every half-truth, every lie,” Dershowitz said on NewsNation's “On Balance with Leland Vittert.”

“And I wanted them out for personal reasons because I knew they were going to prove what I said from day one that I didn't do anything wrong.” he added.

A federal judge in New York last month ordered the identities of more than 150 people named in court documents related to Epstein's crimes to be made public. Speculation has since swirled around who could be included on the list as associates of Epstein, who died by suicide in 2019 while awaiting trial in prison on sex trafficking charges.

Dershowitz, a lawyer and longtime friend of Epstein's, insisted he had “nothing to hide” regarding the planned release of his name. He said Epstein's victim Virginia Giuffre and her colleague Ghislaine Maxwell may have misunderstood their claims last year that Epstein had trafficked her to Dershowitz. I pointed out what was said.

“And the woman who accused me later admitted that she may have misidentified me and confused me with someone else. So I wanted to reveal everything from the beginning because I had nothing to hide. ” he said.

“But while some may be ashamed of the fact that they hung out with Epstein, many people, including Harvard University's president, dean, and Nobel Prize-winning scientist, “Some of you may remember hanging out with Epstein. He was very well thought of from the beginning,” he continued. “None of us knew.”

Dershowitz, a professor at Harvard Law School, represented former President Trump during his first impeachment trial in 2020.
