Deshaun Watson Ruptures Achilles Again, Putting 2025 Season in Doubt

Struggling and oft-injured Browns QB Deshaun Watson suffered another setback in his battle with an Achilles tendon injury, putting his immediate and long-term football future in jeopardy.

News that Warson has reinjured his torn Achilles tendon broke Thursday after the former star underwent another surgery to repair the injury he suffered earlier in the season against Cincinnati.

With this setback, Watson will likely be removed from consideration for the 2025 season by the former Pro Bowler.

This misfortune was just the latest in a series of events that have become widely regarded as the worst personnel decisions in NFL history.

Cleveland traded Watson in 2022, giving him a five-year contract worth $230 million. Since 2022, Wattao has only had a handful of wins with just a few uneven starts.

When Watson went down against the Bengals in October, Browns fans cheered for his injury.

Watson's trade also drew national scorn, considering he was accused of sexual harassment and rape by more than 20 massage therapists in the Houston area during his time with the Texans.

\The Browns have the No. 2 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Most analysts expect Cleveland to use Colorado's Shedule Sanders or Miami's Cam Ward as that pick.
