Tragic Passing of a Designer at Montauk Yacht Club

A designer partner based in New York City was found deceased on a boat at the Litsy Montauk Yacht Club. This unfortunate event has left many in shock.

Dylan Grace, a colleague of the designer, expressed his grief, reflecting, “We dreamed a lot together and understood each other deeply. I feel blessed to have had you in my life,” speaking of Martha Nolan Oslatala, who was only 33 years old.

Nolan was discovered unresponsive on a boat docked at the yacht club early Tuesday morning. Her death comes as a great loss to the local community, especially since she was a rising figure in Manhattan’s design scene, known for her contributions to luxury in the Hamptons.

Authorities have not disclosed the cause of her death or specific circumstances, which has left many in Montauk questioning what happened.

Nolan, originally from Ireland, had moved to the U.S. at 26 and had been making strides in her career. Just last month, she celebrated a successful pop-up shop at Gurney’s Montauk Spa, showcasing summerwear brands.

In response to Nolan’s passing, Gurney’s Spa released a statement, offering condolences and acknowledging her entrepreneurial spirit. “We were proud to host her East X East pop-up,” they mentioned.

Montauk is generally a safe place, and incidents like this are rare. The yacht club, established in 1928, has a long history with many prominent figures among its past clientele.

This tragic event is now under investigation by Suffolk County detectives, as they work to uncover what led to this devastating loss.
