In recent days, liberal media and their Democratic allies seem far more concerned about Republicans spreading “misinformation” than about the actual suffering of North Carolinians.
One need only look at this stormy headline for proof. All from Politico.
- “”'Worst thing I've ever seen': Chaos hammer of disinformation hits FEMA”
- “Lies after the flood: Misinformation and misinformation about Helen cloud recovery”
- “Elon Musk is piling up all kinds of disinformation about hurricanes, hampering relief efforts”
- “FEMA chief says misinformation is 'really dangerous'“”
Politico is certainly not alone, ABC published the following article on Tuesday:Ahead of election, experts warn that Hurricane Helen misinformation is 'just the beginning'”
CBS contributed this on Monday: “Misinformation soars after Hurricane Helen”
It's the same CBS reportedly falsified Video of Kamala Harris' “60 Minutes” interview was used to make the Democratic candidate seem more intelligent. So their concerns about misinformation are clearly temporary.
It's as if a memo was issued to Democratic-leaning media allies, sparking a concerted backlash against criticism of the Biden-Harris White House's response to Hurricane Helen. That's not surprising.
The administration's and Kamala Harris' delayed, tone-deaf and embarrassing responses to the devastating storm are taking their toll. Her team is desperately trying to contain the damage.
Helen's story hit directly at Harris's weak point. Reports that FEMA funds meant to help Americans in crisis were instead used to shelter and feed millions of immigrants occurred on Harris's watch as border czar. A reminder of the failure to control the tsunami of illegal immigration.
News of delays in FEMA aid and poor communication reaffirmed the impression that Mayorkas is incompetent in the Biden-Harris White House, especially at the Department of Homeland Security.
In addition to being in charge of FEMA, Mayorkas also oversees the Border Patrol and the Secret Service, which is accused of authorizing two assassination attempts against Donald Trump. Mr. Mayorkas famously said many times that the border was “secure” even when thousands of people were crossing it illegally every day.
Reuters and Ipsos public opinion poll Polls conducted after Herren show Harris leading Trump by two points nationally among voters. This marks a significant decline for her, as the same poll in late October had her ahead by six points.
So while the alarm bells about “misinformation” have sounded, they clearly apply only to negative assessments of the Biden-Harris administration.
The only problem is that most of the backlash has come from FEMA officials, who are largely responsible for the chaotic relief effort in North Carolina.
Last Sunday, FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell told George Stephanopoulos: Politico's words“Donald Trump's false claim that hurricane relief funds were depleted by money sent to illegal immigrants is a 'truly dangerous narrative.'
The only problem with Criswell's complaint is that it was her boss, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, who first raised the possibility that FEMA didn't have enough money to get through hurricane season. That's what it means. And in 2022, White House official Karine Jean-Pierre broke the news that FEMA funds will protect and feed millions of illegal immigrants who have entered our country. Oops!
Criswell himself Confirmed Redirection of FEMA's mission during testimony before Congress. She said FEMA “remains focused on supporting jurisdictions managing the care of migrants through shelter and service programs.”
Are Mr. Mayorkas, Mr. Criswell, and Mr. Jean-Pierre spreading “misinformation” about how disaster funds went to immigrants?
Another problem with the “misinformation” chatter is that the response to the devastating storm was actually inadequate.
Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio) writes for the Wall Street Journal Editorial It took Harris, Biden and Mayorkas several days to work on relief efforts in the Southeast, just as George Bush came after Katrina and was criticized by critics for doing so. He pointed out that it took about a few days. It also took too long to deploy troops to the area and, once deployed, to operate them effectively.
as vance I wrote: “Due to severe deployment delays, North Carolina Senators Ted Budd and Thom Tillis issued a joint statement on October 4, stating that “active-duty military personnel with extensive experience in operations of this scale… He asked the leaders to take the lead in the future.
People should be careful: Democrats have now decided that accusations of “misinformation” are the best way to dampen criticism of their policies and discordant opinions from their opponents. Democrats are increasingly waging war on free speech. This is not an exaggeration, as Joe Biden says.
When former Secretary of State John Kerry complains that the First Amendment, which protects free speech, stands in the way of his party's extreme weather policies being imposed on Americans, it's not just a whine. .
Kerry, Joe Biden's climate leader, recently spoke at the World Economic Forum's Sustainable Development Impact Conference. and said“If people have access to just one source of information, and that source is sick and, you know, has an agenda and is spreading disinformation, the First Amendment just, you know, that All we have to do is negate its existence.”
In other words, the Democratic Party pretends to protect democracy, but by trying to stifle dissent, it is exposing its true authoritarianism.
