Details about Colorado firebomb suspect Mohamed Sabry Soliman

Colorado Man Arrested for Alleged Terrorist Attack

Mohamed Sabri Soliman, a 45-year-old father from Colorado Springs, has been accused of harboring a deep-seated hatred for Jewish people. He reportedly informed authorities that he was waiting for his daughter to finish high school before executing his violent plans.

Before the attack, Soliman was hidden away in a desk drawer by his wife and five children. He faces federal hate crime charges following a fiery assault on a gathering intended to honor Israelis still held hostage by Hamas.

After being arrested, Soliman expressed his contempt for Jewish individuals, stating that he wished to “kill all Zionist people.” He admitted to having repressed these violent thoughts until his daughter graduated.

His target was identified as a pro-Israel group that holds weekly events in support of hostages. Soliman claimed he found the group through a Facebook search and intended to attack them during their gathering.

In addition to verbal threats, Soliman disguised himself as a landscape gardener and reportedly yelled, “Free Palestine!” He allegedly used a garden hose to spray gasoline on group members, attempting to fashion a makeshift flamethrower. Furthermore, he robbed Molotov cocktails and ignited them, even pouring the fire-stoked liquid directly on himself.

Authorities later discovered a plastic container holding 14 homemade incendiary devices crafted from jars and rags. Sources indicate he purchased gasoline after driving a Toyota Prius into Boulder in 2015.

The attack resulted in eight individuals suffering severe burns, prompting the FBI to pursue the case as an act of terrorism.

Complicating matters, Soliman was reportedly in the U.S. unlawfully after overstaying his visitor’s visa by more than two years. He entered the country on August 27, 2022, via Los Angeles International Airport on a B2 visa. A month later, he applied for asylum, which remained pending at the time of the incident. Though he had applied for a work visa, it had expired in March.
