After some time in a detention facility in Brooklyn, Sean “Diddy” Combs has been moved to a “low-security” prison in New Jersey.
On October 30th, Combs was transferred to FCI Fort Dix. He still has about 50 months left on his sentence for two counts related to illicit transportation for prostitution.
Diddy’s new home features a drug rehabilitation program
His legal team requested that the judge place Diddy in FCI Fort Dix to tackle his substance abuse problems and to facilitate family visits and rehabilitation efforts.
Judge Arun Subramanian noted in a letter that the court recommends keeping the defendant close to the New York area and considering him for available substance abuse programs, including the Bureau of Prisons Residential Drug Abuse Program (RDAP), which he qualifies for.
FCI Fort Dix has housed other notable inmates
FCI Fort Dix has seen its share of famous inmates, much like the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, which housed figures like R. Kelly and disgraced financier Maxine Ghislaine, a known associate of Jeffrey Epstein.
Diddy is currently sharing space with former NBA player Sebastian Telfair, who recently pleaded guilty to fraud charges in March 2023, as reported by The Spun.
FCI Fort Dix has also been home to Martin Shkreli, labeled “Pharma Bro,” who was convicted for lying to investors and defrauding hedge funds, along with former “Real Housewives of New Jersey” star Joe Giudice.
Diddy might see an early release
According to the Bureau of Prisons, Diddy is slated for release on May 8, 2028, but there’s a chance for earlier release following a judge’s decision to delay his appeal.
The former music mogul is reportedly hopeful for a pardon from President Trump, claiming to fellow inmates that he believes Trump will grant such leniency next year, as noted by TMZ.
