Details Of PM Modi 2-Day UAE Trip

One of the highlights of the visit was the inauguration of BAPS Mandir.

New Delhi:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for two days starting Tuesday. This will be Prime Minister Modi’s seventh visit to the UAE and is expected to strengthen the already close and multifaceted ties between the two countries.

During his visit, Prime Minister Modi will hold bilateral talks with UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Discussions are expected to focus on deepening and strengthening strategic partnerships, with an emphasis on expanding cooperation across various sectors. Regional and international issues of mutual interest will also be on the agenda.

Additionally, Prime Minister Modi will hold talks with His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of the UAE. He will be attending the 2024 World Government Summit in Dubai as a guest of honor and delivering a special keynote address.

One of the highlights of the visit was the inauguration of BAPS Mandir, Abu Dhabi’s first Hindu temple, on Wednesday.

UAE was among the top four countries for foreign direct investment in India in 2022-23. During this period, bilateral trade between India and the UAE reached a staggering $85 billion, solidifying the two countries’ status as important trading partners. This economic cooperation was further facilitated by agreements such as the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) signed in February 2022 and the Local Currency Settlement (LCS) system established in July 2023.

The UAE has an Indian community of approximately 3.5 million people, forming the largest expatriate group in the country. Their contribution to the UAE’s socio-economic development has played an important role in fostering strong people-to-people ties.
