Devils and Canucks are motivated to finalize Quinn Hughes’ agreement.

Twenty years later, we’re witnessing a new wave of unity among players, reminiscent of a time when Scott Niedermayer made the decision to join his brother Rob in Anaheim. Now, it seems only a matter of time before Quinn Hughes contemplates a similar journey across the continent in pursuit of his dreams.

The older Hughes brothers have expressed a desire to team up with Jack and Luke. However, there’s a bit of a twist—Quinn isn’t currently in Vancouver. While he may have a couple of years left on his contract before hitting free agency in 2027, it seems there’s little reason to postpone what might feel inevitable.

Earlier this season with the Canucks, things took a turn when his coach, Rick Tocchet, struggled amidst the loud chaos surrounding the team.

For Vancouver’s management, this could turn into a positive opportunity for the talented 25-year-old defenseman, especially considering the missed chances back in the summer of 2005 when the team faced similar challenges following the expiration of contracts.
