DHS criticizes Cardi B for urging the crowd to 'jump' them if they show up

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has taken action against Cardi B after a video surfaced where she humorously suggested she would confront U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents if they attended one of her concerts.

During the opening night of her “Little Miss Drama Tour” in Palm Desert, California, the artist addressed the audience, primarily composed of Guatemalans and Mexicans. She warned, “If ICE comes in here, we’re going to jump over them,” which drew enthusiastic cheers from the crowd. She added, “I’ve got a bear mace on my back! They’re not going to take my fans,” highlighting her protective stance over her supporters.

DHS did not respond immediately but the official account on X mentioned, “As long as she does not use drugs or rob staff, we consider this an improvement over her past behavior,” likely referencing Cardi’s earlier comments about her actions while she was a stripper, where she stated she used to drug and rob men.

Interestingly, her recent critiques of immigration enforcement come just weeks after she had praised Saudi Arabian policies, which are often considered more authoritarian compared to Western democracies.

Cardi has expressed mixed feelings about her experiences. While she recognized the cleanliness and order of Saudi Arabia, she contrasted it with what she perceives as a decline in civility and cleanliness in the U.S., remarking, “There’s no civility in America. We’re a ghetto. We’re just dusty. It’s a shame.” It’s a curious dichotomy, wouldn’t you say?

In her remarks, she seemed genuinely concerned about various social issues but her shifting perspectives also demonstrate the complexities of her views. I mean, it’s a lot to unpack.
