DHS Detains Leader of MS-13 'Assassination Squad' in Nebraska

Illegal MS-13 Gang Member Arrested in Nebraska

An MS-13 gang member, Gerson Emil Cuadra Soto, who is suspected of being involved in a quadruple murder in Honduras, has been apprehended in Nebraska by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

Cuadra Soto reportedly managed to bribe his way out of a Honduran prison in July 2022 after participating in the murder of Said Lobo Bonilla, the son of former Honduran President Porfirio Lobo Sosa, along with three others. Some sources have indicated that he and two accomplices paid around $125,000 to officials to secure their release.

Known within MS-13 as “Fantasma,” Cuadra Soto is said to have entered the United States by crossing the southern border illegally later that same year. He eventually obtained a California driver’s license, according to DHS.

Cuadra Soto was arrested on December 8th in Grand Island, Nebraska, thanks to collaboration among Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and other law enforcement agencies.

Tricia McLaughlin, an Assistant Secretary at DHS, commented on the arrest, referring to the gang member as a “terrifying MS-13 killer.” She expressed confidence in law enforcement’s ability to track down criminals, stating that he thought he could evade justice.

McLaughlin further emphasized that, due to the efforts of law enforcement, this “cold-blooded murderer” has been removed from the streets. She mentioned the priority of the Trump administration in addressing criminal aliens affiliated with terrorist organizations like MS-13.

Despite the immigration charges against Cuadra Soto, the FBI is still conducting a thorough investigation into his potential leadership role within MS-13, as noted by various reports.
