DHS Emphasizes Crimes Committed by Illegal Immigrants Arrested in L.A. Operation

This week, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) continues to voice concerns regarding nationwide riots, focusing on crimes associated with illegal immigrants apprehended during a recent operation by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

The DHS has been sharing information about illegal immigrants detained during recent activities in Los Angeles, where protests arose over the weekend with demonstrators waving Mexican flags. According to reports, some of those arrested have criminal histories that include serious offenses, such as sexual assault, double murder, assault with intent to commit rape, and drug distribution, among others.

In addition, DHS provided further details about those captured in a press release on Monday, revealing that many have committed crimes against children.

One of the individuals arrested is Eswin Uriel Castro, who had previously been deported. His offenses include “child abuse and using dangerous weapons,” according to DHS. He is also charged with robbery and domestic violence.

Another individual, Anastasio Enrique Solis Salinas from Nicaragua, was detained for intentionally harming a child. He also has prior convictions for domestic violence and assault.

Miguel Angel Parafox Montes returned to Mexico voluntarily on two occasions before being caught by ICE. His criminal record includes grand larceny, drug offenses, identity theft, and additional charges for battery and robbery.

Lastly, Rafael Gamez-Sanchez, also apprehended by ICE, has a conviction for vehicular manslaughter. Meanwhile, Dzhakhar Aslambekov, originally from Russia, was detained for fraud involving an electronic benefit transfer (EBT) card linked to government assistance programs, per DHS reports.

DHS Deputy Director Tricia McLaughlin emphasized in a statement that among the arrested are individuals guilty of crimes against children. She questioned, “Are Governor Newsom and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass more concerned about violent, illegal immigrants than they are about their own citizens?” McLaughlin expressed frustration, asserting that the leaders are working to “release rapists, murderers, and other violent offenders onto the streets of Los Angeles.”

“Instead of protesting, they should be thankful for ICE officers who make our communities safer each day,” she remarked.
