Portland Group Encourages Use of Lasers Against Planes Amid Unrest
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has reacted to a call from a Portland organization that is urging individuals to aim lasers at aircrafts. This comes during ongoing tensions related to the Trump administration’s efforts on illegal immigration.
This message continues to be displayed on the Rose City Counter-Info website, where the group describes itself as “the so-called Portland, Oregon Counter-Anarchist Intelligence Platform.”
They are encouraging anyone who might want to join in to “wear a mask” and “coordinate with a friend.” Furthermore, they have offered advice on how participants can evade law enforcement identification. Their guidance includes: “Be prepared to dispose of the laser if necessary. Wear gloves and clean with alcohol if you need to dispose of it quickly. Also, think about precautions to avoid leaving DNA on the laser.”
Protests Escalate with Guillotines and Clashes
A journalist associated with the Post Millennial shared a screenshot from the Rose City Counter-Info site to social media, suggesting that Antifa plans to gather at various city spots, using lasers to disrupt “reconnaissance planes.” The rationale behind this effort is to create a diversion, allowing other insurgents to carry out more “audacious actions” elsewhere.
On September 30, the DHS announced the apprehension of four undocumented Mexican nationals who were accused of pointing a laser at a Customs and Border Protection (CBP) helicopter, jeopardizing the safety of the pilot and crew. The suspects, identified by ICE, were Diogenes Albores-Schiapa, Andres Brian López-Labra, Benito Zamora-Alvarez, and Hector Miranda Mendoza. They were allegedly trying to blind the pilot during their “laser attack” but were captured when federal agents tracked the laser back to a residence in Portland.
DHS noted that Albores-Schiapa had previous arrests for drug possession and trespassing, with multiple immigration violations. López-Labra had been previously arrested for illegal entry and was recently apprehended for DUI. Zamora-Alvarez claimed he had been living in the U.S. illegally since 1994.
Portland’s Riots Persist
Portland has become a focal point for protests against ICE, with some bringing guillotines as tools of protest. Recently, DHS Secretary Kristi Noem visited an ICE location in Portland, praying for the officers involved amid rising violence.
Interestingly, Oregon Governor Tina Kotek responded to the turmoil by claiming there was “no violence” in the state, expressing confidence that “local law enforcement would act appropriately in the moment.” Kotek, who recently met with Secretary Noem, noted that she had urged DHS and ICE to adhere to Oregon law when performing federal duties.
Kotek’s sentiments are echoed by other officials from Democratic-led states as they resist federal enforcement initiatives. The Trump administration continues to push for the deployment of federal law enforcement to tackle crime in cities like Portland.
Fox News Digital has reached out to DHS for comments but has not received a response at this time.
