Man Accused of Fatal Accident in New Jersey Entered U.S. Illegally

Authorities have identified the man who allegedly struck and killed a pedestrian in New Jersey last Friday as Wilson “Adrian” Morocho Necta, a 33-year-old illegal immigrant from Ecuador. It was reported that he entered the U.S. through the southern border in 2019 but was subsequently deported to Mexico after a judge issued a final removal order. However, he reentered the country illegally at an unknown time and location.

Currently, Morocho Necta is considered a fugitive, and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is actively working to locate him.

This situation arises amidst New Jersey’s immigration trust directive, often viewed as a sanctuary policy for undocumented migrants. Local law enforcement typically does not collaborate with federal immigration authorities under this directive, which aims to build trust between officers and diverse immigrant communities, encouraging victims and witnesses to report crimes without fear.

Morocho Necta faces charges for leaving the scene of a personal injury accident and for putting an injured victim at further risk by fleeing. The victim has been identified as Justo Pirko-Tenesaka, a 68-year-old resident of Morristown. Reports indicate that as he attempted to flee on foot, Morocho Necta got trapped under another truck, prompting bystanders to call emergency services.

Pirko-Tenesaka was transported to a hospital but sadly passed away due to his injuries shortly after the incident.

Morocho Necta was operating a truck for a home improvement company when the accident occurred. The owner expressed his disappointment regarding the unfortunate event, highlighting the gravity of the situation.

As of now, Morristown city officials have not responded to inquiries regarding the incident.
